Thrifty Gem Spotlight: July

My birthday just passed and I couldn’t think of anything better to wear than my vintage prairie-revival Gunne Sax dress. I purchased this from a Salvation Army out in Staten Island, New York two years ago for $20. A vintage shop in Soho wanted me to consign it to them. They priced it at $120. Not sure if that’s what it’s worth. A  search on the internet reveals prices ranging from $30 to $200. In my opinion finding a dress like this is priceless.

While I couldn’t find my particular Gunne Sax dress online, I did find one similar. This one is a wedding dress which is funny because I was thinking my Gunne Sax would make a fine wedding dress. Hippy style.
